411 <br />40 <br />IL'VL7 pturr GUIDE <br />The following paragraphs and figures are presented as guides for <br />the design and developuent of new subdivisions. <br />1. Consideration shall be given to lot orientation with respect <br />to the separation of i.nca7vatible land uses. I1:sidential lots <br />which face corn rcial or industrial districts or ubich face <br />major streets should be avoided where possible. (See Figure 2') , <br />2. Consideration shall be given to the eaploytexrt of cur- <br />vilinear design in residumtial subdivisions. The overall layout <br />shall contain a minimun of street intersections. Each block <br />shall have a maxirnm of minor streets in residential districts <br />greater than 1,000 feet should be avoided where possible. <br />Minor streets in residential districts shall be designed so <br />as to avoid through traffic. (See Figure 3.) <br />3. In the general layout of subdivisions, consideration shall <br />be given to orienting lots with respect to sum angles and <br />prevailing winds. <br />4. Consideration shall be given to the preservation lh of trees , <br />groves, watexways, scenic points and cocmnilty <br />the <br />ayout and developnmt of subdivisions. <br />-28- <br />
