RESOLUTION NO. 75-27 <br />WHEREAS, Florida Statutes 112 (1973) Part III pertains to <br />the standards of conduct for public officers and employees; and <br />WHEREAS, the elected County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County are affected by the standards of conduct as established <br />in Florida Statutes 112.313 and subsequent sections; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the County Commissioners to <br />establish a uniform procedure controlling the standards of <br />conduct for both Commissioners and other County Commission <br />appointed boards upon the happening of one of their members <br />filing a sworn statement with the Clerk of the Circuit Court <br />outlining a particular conflict that exists; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County Commissioners <br />of Indian River County unanimously agree that upon the filing <br />of a sworn affidavit with the Clerk of the Circuit Court for <br />Indian River County by one of their members or by a member of <br />an appointed Board, that the following standards of conduct <br />will control: <br />1. Prior to the conflicting matter appearing on the <br />Agenda, the filing Official will not in any way attempt to <br />influence his fellow Board or Commission members as to the <br />outcome of such particular scheduled matter. <br />2. On the day the scheduled matter is heard, the filing <br />Official will step down from the hearing table, after disclosing <br />that he has appropriately filed a conflict of interest state- <br />ment with the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Indian River County, <br />Florida. <br />3. While the matter is being discussed by the remaining <br />Commission or Board, the filing Official. will leave the premises <br />of the County Commission Chambers and will remain outside <br />until the scheduled matter has been resolved by the remaining <br />Commission or Board. <br />
