The four counties will share in the facility costs <br />based upon a formula that is used for sharing operational expenses, and Indian River's share shall be <br />24.36% of the total cost. <br />Funding <br />The most recent cost estimate for this facility was approximately $20 million, which is subject to change <br />based upon the space needs analysis, design, and construction pricing at the time of construction. Staff <br />plans to include $5.5 million for our portion of design and construction costs in the upcoming Capital <br />Improvements Program that will be submitted to the Board in December. The FY 2022/23 budget <br />includes funding of $500,000 for the County's portion of the design costs. Local costs will be funded <br />from Optional Sales Tax. The four counties will also pursue legislative appropriations and grants to <br />offset the cost of the project. <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve the attached interlocal agreement <br />and authorize the Chairman to sign the agreement. <br />33 <br />
