property, and; <br />• WHEREAS, the City of Vero Beach and the Department of Transpor- <br />tation are presently stalled in negotiations over utility relocation and other <br />matters which have resulted in the City of Vero Beach's failure to convey <br />the much needed Right -of -Way for the bridge corridor, and; <br />WHEREAS, the County Commissioners of Indian River County desire <br />to protect the Fifteen Million Dollar ($15, 000, 000.00) allocation of funds, to <br />alleviate the traffic congestion that is impeding the safety of Indian River <br />County Citizens, to encourage the orderly development of the County, and to <br />continue to grant the construction of a second bridge over the Indian River a <br />position of highest priority. <br />A NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that the Department <br />of Transportation of the State of Florida is hereby authorized to negotiate, <br />purchase, or condemn, if necessary, the Right -of -Way owned by the City of <br />Vero Beach pursuant to Right -of -Way Contract 88003-2501, and; <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation <br />is to proceed with all deliberate speed to conclude the procurement of the <br />designated Right -of -Way, and to begin construction of the much needed second <br />bridge across the Indian River. <br />Such Resolution shall become effective as of the 24th day of <br />March , 1976. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />By <br />Char n <br />Attest; ,; 1 <br />414dll A/ <br />Ralph as; Clerk <br />sl!
