i <br />RESOLUTION NO, 76-54 <br />• <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT <br />CREATING THE TREASURE COAST REGIONAL PLAN- <br />NING COUNCIL, AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRMAN OF <br />i THE BOARD TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT, <br />WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County, by adoption of Resolution No. 75-35, entitled <br />"Resolution Requesting the Creation of a New Regional Planning <br />District Comprised of the Counties of Indian River, Martin, St. <br />Lucie and Palm Beach," did officially express their desire <br />to create a new regional planning agency; and <br />WHEREAS, the Secretary, Department of Administration of the <br />State of Florida, has authorized the creation of a new regional <br />planning district to be comprised of Indian River, St. Lucie, <br />Martin and Palm Beach Counties; and <br />WHEREAS, on July 28, 1976, a public meeting was held with <br />elected representatives from Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin <br />and Palm Beach Counties and it was the general concensus that <br />agreement had been reached on the terms of the interlocal agree- <br />ment creating the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 163, Florida Statutes, provides the ap- <br />propriate statutory authority to permit Indian River, St. Lucie, <br />Martin and Palm Beach Counties, all political subdivisions of <br />the State of Florida, to enter into an interlocal agreement <br />creating the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County desires to enter into and approve such interlocal agree- <br />ment providing for representation by elected county and municipal <br />officials; and <br />WHEREAS, the respective counties of the regional district <br />will hold a public meeting at which time the respective <br />Chairman of each Board of County Commissioners will execuce the <br />attached Interlocal Agreement. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: <br />1. The attached Interlocal Agreement creating the Treasure <br />Coast Regional Planning Council is hereby approved. <br />
