as <br />aP <br />40 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />RESOLUTION NO, 76 - 81 <br />WHEREAS the Board of County Commissioners for Indian <br />River County on behalf of its citizens, desire to honor <br />Edward Massey for his services to Indian River County <br />while a County Commissioner from November 5, 1968 to <br />November 16, 1976, representing District 1 and, <br />WHEREAS Edward Massey during his two terms as a County <br />Commissioner expressed deep concern for the preservation <br />of Ocean frontage and other natural habitat within Indian <br />River County and, <br />WHEREAS Edward Massey's efforts helped preserve the <br />Jungle Trail as a scenic drive; spur the acquisition <br />of the Sebastian Inlet State Park while protecting <br />fisherman's rights of access to the park, negotiate <br />leases with the Florida Inland Navigation District for <br />Islands in the Indian River, now being used for recreation <br />purposes, and many other worthwhile projects that benefit <br />county residents and visitors alike and, <br />WHEREAS Edward Massey has served with distinction as <br />Vice Chairman of the County Commission, Vice Chairman <br />of the Board of Tax Adjustment, Chairman of the Board <br />of Supervisors of the RockRidga Street Lighting District <br />and many committee chairmanships both State and Local. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, that the <br />Board honors Edward Massey on behalf of all the citizens <br />of Indian River County for the many valued contributions <br />and diligent effort provided by Edward Massey during his <br />terms as a County Commissioner. <br />� R�VEk c0 <br />4 GZ <br />L0Rl� Chair an, oun y Commissio ' s <br />
