GG <br />o <br />OF IN AN IRI"HEIR COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 76-91 <br />WHEREAS, by Resolution 75-67 the Board of County Commissioners <br />of Indian River County pursuant to Florida Statute 125. 60-64 (1975) <br />established a thirteen member Charter Commission to study and make <br />recommendations to the citizens of Indian River County regarding <br />the most economical, efficient and effective form of home rule <br />government, and, <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Indian River County Resolution 75-67 John R. <br />Gould received appointment as one of the thirteen Charter Commission <br />J members, and, <br />WIIEI2EAS, John R. Gould as a Charter Commission member conducted <br />a comprehensive study of the operation of county government and as <br />Co -Chairman of the Public Health and Safety Committee analyzed in <br />depth methods to improve and reorganize our local government for the <br />benefit of all citizens in India? River County, and, <br />WHEREAS, after long hours of study, organization meetings with Sub - <br />Committees, assimilation of material, preparation of tentative drafts, <br />debates, and public hearings the Commission completed the final <br />Charter Document, submitted it to the Board of County Commissioners <br />for Indian River County on September 1, 1976, and, <br />WHEREAS, although the results bf the Charter Referendum were <br />unsuccessful the citizens of Indian River County owe a great debt of <br />appreciation to John R, Gould for his diligent efforts and service <br />to our community and county government, <br />0 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County <br />r Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, that the Board <br />extends its appreciation and honors John li. Gould on behalf of the <br />citizens of Indian River County for his contribution and diligent <br />effort as a member of the Charter Commission and Co -Chairman <br />of the Public health and Safety Committee. <br />C:hairmau,(:uunt}' Conmiissiane' <br />
