We are paying $4.50 for all of it <br />which he felt was a very good deal with the telephone company. <br />Chairman Adams commented that the contract on page 49 in the <br />back-up actually reads 5 miles, 'so we need to make sure the <br />contract says 7 miles. <br />Director Dean advised that there are actually two contracts. <br />County Attorney Vitunac advised that there are two very <br />similar looking contracts and perhaps only one of them had been <br />copied for the backup. <br />Director Dean advised that we're signing one contract for up - <br />to -5 miles and then the other for up -to -7 miles. <br />Commissioner Eggert wondered why there were two separate <br />contracts, and Director Dean responded that it was because there <br />were two different rates. The up -to -5 mile rate had to be <br />negotiated first; then they had to negotiate the up -to -7 mile rate. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />the two ESSX Telephone Service contracts, as <br />recommended by staff. <br />AGREEMENTS ARE ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF <br />THE CLERK TO THE BOAARD AND ARE RECORDED IN THE <br />PUBLIC RECORDS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />T. Vitunac, County Attorney <br />DATE: February 8, 1996 <br />RE: National Association of Telecommunication <br />Officers and Advisors - Training Seminar <br />On February 7, 1996, President Clinton signed into law the new <br />telecommunication bill which radically changes the relationship of local <br />government franchising authorities and the cable industry. <br />The National Association of Telecommunication officers and Advisors is <br />holding a training session on March 7 and 8, 1996, in Washington, D.C., and a <br />recent meeting with the County cable coordinating group, Commissioner Macht <br />felt that it was advisable to have representation at the meeting; therefore, <br />I am requesting permission for Commissioner Macht and me to attend.
