G-1 <br />40 <br />���•' �+I. 1� �Il /,tI cif I'�.� x`1:,1 �I .t 1 'I r� <br />RX'J'ARR.), OF COUNTY COMMISSRONERS <br />01,' INDIAN RIVER COi1NTV, F LOPR IPA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 76-99 <br />WHEREAS, by Resolution 75-67 the Board of C.o^nty Commissioners <br />of Indian River County pursuant to Florida Statute 125.60-64 (1975) <br />established a thirteen member Charter Commission to study and make <br />recommendations to the citizens of Indian River County regarding <br />the most economical, efficient and effective form of home rule <br />government, and, <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Indian River County Resolution 75-67 Dr. B. <br />Q. Waddell received appointment as one of the thirteen Charter <br />Commission members, and, <br />WHEREAS, Dr. B. Q. Waddell as a Charter, Commission member <br />conducted a comprehensive study of the operation of county govern- <br />ment and as Chairman of the External Services Committee analyzed <br />in depth methods to improve and reorganize our local government <br />for the. benefit of all citizens in Indian River County, and, <br />WHEREAS, after long hours of study, organization meetings with <br />Sub -Committees, assimilation of material, preparation of tentative <br />drafts, debates, and public hearings the Commission completed the <br />final Charter Document, submitting it to the Board of County <br />Commissioners for Indian River County on September 1, 1976, and, <br />WHEREAS, although the results of the Charter Referendum were <br />unsuccessful the citizens of Indian River County owe a great debt of <br />appreciation to Dr. B. Q. Waddell for his diligent efforts and service <br />to our community and county government. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BI; IT RESOLVED by the hoard of County <br />Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, that the Board <br />extends its appreciation and honors Dr. B. Q. Waddell on behalf of <br />the citizens of Indian River County for his contribution and diligent <br />effort us a member of the Charter Commission and Chairman of <br />the External Services Conul�itt+. <br />Chainn:u�,C;aunty Connnissio + s <br />
