U 11 <br />0 <br />THE CHAIRMAN REVIEWED WITH TIIE BOARD A PROPOSED SCHEDULE FOR <br />BUDGET SESSIONS AND PROPERTY APPRAISAL ADJUSTMENT BOARD MEETINGS, <br />COMMISSIONER Loy BROUGHT UP THE MATTER OF GUIDELINES FOR SALARY <br />i INCREASES FOR THE NEXT FISCAL YEAR. SHE NOTED THAT LAST YEAR THE BOARD <br />MADE RECOMMENDATIONS PREVIOUS TO THE DEPARTMENT BUDGETS BEING SUBMITTED. <br />SHE ASKED IF THE BOARD HAD ANY RECOMMENDATIONS THEY WISHED TO MAKE IN THE <br />AREA OF COST OF LIVING INCREASES AS OPPOSED TO MERIT INCREASES OR AS TO THE <br />PERCENTAGES THEY WOULD LIKE TO HAVE FOLLOWED. COMMISSIONER Loy CONTINUED <br />THAT FINANCE OFFICER JACKSON HAS SENT OUT ALL THE BUDGET MATERIALS, BUT <br />i <br />j HAS NOT MADE ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ABOUT THE SALARY CATEGORY. SHE POINTED <br />OUT THAT THE BOARD DOES NOT HAVE TO MAKE ANY RECOMMENDATIONS, BUT SHE FELT <br />SOME SUGGESTED GUIDELINES WOULD MAKE IT EASIER FOR THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS <br />TO PREPARE THEIR BUDGETS AND HAVE THEM MORE IN LINE WITH WHAT THE BOARD <br />WOULD LIKE TO SEE. <br />CONSIDERABLE DISCUSSION FOLLOWED WITH REGARD TO SUGGESTED "COST <br />OF LIVING" INCREASE PERCENTAGES AND THE DEFINING OF "STEP" INCREASES AS <br />RELATED TO "MERIT" INCREASES AND "GRADE" INCREASES. <br />COMMISSIONER SIEBERT SUGGESTED A FLAT 2% "COST OF LIVING" IN- <br />CREASE, WHICH WOULD GIVE A POTENTIAL OF ANOTHER 5% MERIT INCREASE AT THE <br />EMPLOYEE S ANNIVERSARY DATE, <br />FINANCE OFFICER JACKSON ASKED IF HE COULD PREPARE A LETTER STATING <br />THAT THE BOARD WOULD BE RECEPTIVE TO INCREASES NOT EXCEEDING 7%. <br />CHAIRMAN WODTKE FELT HE COULD SAY THAT THE BOARD 1S RECOMMENDING <br />AS A GUIDELINE A 2% COST OF LIVING INCREASE WITH A POTENTIAL OF A 5% MERIT <br />INCREASE ON THE EMPLOYEES ANNIVERSARY DATE, BUT CANNOT PROMISE THAT THIS <br />I <br />i <br />WILL BE ATTAINED. <br />ADMINISTRATOR JENNINGS ASKED THAT THE BOARD APPROVE A STANDARD <br />RIGHT -OF -'JAY CONTRACT WITH THE DOT ON SECTION 88060-2514, STATE ROAD 60, <br />ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER Loy, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER $CHMUCKER, <br />i �ONTRACT <br />THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTE RESOLUTION ND AUTHORIZED THE <br />CHAIRMAN'S SIGNATURE TO TILE: RIGHT -OF- TH THE DOT AS ABOVE, <br />RESOLUTION AND CONTRACT WILL BE MADE A PART OF THE MINUTES WHEN FULLY <br />SIGNED. <br />ATTORNEY COLLINS INFORMED THE BOARD THAT HE HAS TALKED WITH DON <br />ADAMS, BUILDING DIRECTOR, ABOUT THE EOU S REQUEST TO PAY FOR THEIR BUILDING <br />I <br />� PERMITS ONCE A MONTH, AND THIS CANNOT BE WORKED OUT, /��JQ��•�,�A �� , <br />+5Aw <br />JUN s 1977 r�''` t'� v4 <br />t <br />
