Tuesday, February 20, 1996 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission Chambers, <br />1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, February 20, <br />1996, at 9:00 a.m. Present were Fran B. Adams, Chairman; Carolyn <br />K. Eggert, Vice Chairman; Richard N. Bird; Kenneth R. Macht; and <br />John W. Tippin. Also present were James E. Chandler, County <br />Administrator; Charles P. Vitunac, County Attorney; and Barbara <br />Bonnah, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order, and Commissioner <br />Bird led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA/EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />Chairman Adams requested the addition of a presentation from <br />the Vero Beach Boat Club. <br />Attorney Vitunac requested the addition of arbitration on the <br />Courthouse regarding the mahogany paneling. <br />Attorney Vitunac requested the deletion of Item 11-A, advising <br />that the matter has been resolved. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Tippin, the Board -unanimously approved <br />the above additions and deletion to today's Agenda. <br />PROCLAMATIONS/PRESENTATIONS <br />Previous to the presentation, Commissioner Bird wished to <br />report that the Parks & Recreation Committee has recommended taking <br />over the maintenance and operation of Boat Island which includes <br />dock facilities, picnic facilities, a barbecue, and a portable <br />toilet. <br />Knox Robins, Commodore of the Vero Beach Boat Club, read aloud <br />the following letter and presented a check in the amount of $1000 <br />to the Board of County Commissioners to facilitate the initial <br />__cleanup and repairs needed on the property: <br />1 800K U I F"v;C 22 <br />FEBRUARY 20, 1996 <br />
