�!20 1 . - <br />RESOLUTION NO. 78-5 <br />BOARD Oy� COUNTY l�,%C®MMISSIO \ERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />WHEREAS, on November 17, 1967 the City Council for the City <br />of Vero Beach and the Board of County Commissioners for Indian Riv <br />County, signed an Agreement forming the City -County Building <br />Department; and <br />WHEREAS, on November 27, 1967, DONALD F. ADAMS was hired to <br />head up the City -County Building Department as its Director; and <br />WHEREAS, for over ten years DONALD F. ADAMS served both the <br />City of Vero Beach and Indian River County efficiently and <br />effectively as the Director of the City -County Building Department <br />and <br />WHEREAS, some of the notable achievements attributable to <br />the leadership of DONALD F. ADAMS are: <br />1. The adoption on May 27, 1974 of Indian River County <br />Ordinance 74-1.1 whereby the Board of County Commissioners <br />adopted the Southern Standard Housing Code, 1973 edition; <br />2. Passage by the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Resolution No. 68-9 on February 1, 1968 adopting the Build <br />Electrical and Plumbing Codes which regulate the construct <br />alteration and repair of buildings in Indian River County; <br />3. The adoption on March 23, 1976 of Indian River County O <br />Ordinance 76-4 establishing the Minimum Standard Housing Code; <br />4. The untiring efforts of. DONALD F. ADAMS to rid the City <br />and County of dilapidated and hazardous structures; and <br />.WHEREAS, effective January 1, 1978, DONALD F. ADAMS submitt <br />his resignation as the Director of the City -County Building <br />Department which resignation has been reluctantly accepted by both <br />the City and County governmental bodies; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board on <br />behalf of itself and the citizens of Indian River County desire to <br />thank DONALD F. ADAMS for his effective and dedicated service to <br />Indian River County in the capacity of Director of the City -County <br />Building Department; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board <br />extends its grateful appreciation for a <br />job well done and wishes DONALD F.
