(G --, ��(( <br />RESOLUTION X70. 78-22 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMWISSMNERS <br />OF INDIAN RHVER COUNTY, FLOR1�A <br />WHEREAS, On January 2, 3.970, VALENTYNE E. BRENNAN was hired as <br />the first Planner of Indian laver Country, Florida; and <br />WHEREAS, VALENTYNE E. BRENNAN was Director of the Vero Beach - <br />Indian River County Planning Department and served under the joint <br />Vero Beach/Indian River County Planning; Commission; and <br />WHEREAS, VALENTYNE E. BRENNAN devoted many long and arduous <br />hours to his job as County Planner despite failing health; and <br />WHEREAS, there are many notable achievements attributable to <br />the leadership of VALENTYNE E. BRENNAN, a few of the many were: <br />a, An Ordinance establishing building construction set -backs. <br />of 75 feet from the right-of-way line of State Road 60;--. <br />b, Preparation of set -back maps pursuant to the Coastal <br />Zone Management Program; <br />c. Adoption of the Subdivision Ordinance; <br />d. Adoption of the Indian River County Comprehensive <br />Land Use Plan; <br />e. Adoption of an Interim Resolution establishing the <br />Indian River. County Planning Commission <br />f. Adoption of the Landscape Ordinance <br />g, Coordinated and worked on the Community Development <br />Block Grant Program; <br />h. Rezoning of the Spoil.Islands; <br />i. Alphabetical listing of Street Names in Indian River <br />County and establishment of a Street Numbering System; <br />j. Working with municipalities to comply with the Local <br />Comprehensive Planning Act; and <br />WHEREAS, VALENTYNE E. BRENNAN was.a good friend of both <br />property owners and non -property owners in Indian River County; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COT4- <br />MISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that VALENTYNE E. <br />BRENNAN be posthumously honored for his many contributions on behal <br />,of the Board and the Citizens of Indian River County; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the entire Board of County Com- <br />missioners and the citizens of Indian River County acknowledge <br />>the loss of a great- community leader who worked hard as the County <br />Planner and as a citizen of the community to promote the best <br />interests of Indian River County, Florida. <br />Adopted April 5, 1978 <br />OW6000 <br />Chairman,(;ounty Coinnii. ,•io►uts <br />
