Contract for Services Extended <br />Concerning Acquisition of Additional Landfill Property <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of February 26, 1996 and <br />letter of January 17, 1996: <br />DATE: February 26, 1996 <br />TO: JAMES E. PINTO <br />DIRECTOR OF UTIIATJOERVICES <br />PREPARED ANA ANDERSO (�� <br />AND STAFFED FRANCHISE COORDINATOR <br />BY: DEPARTMENT OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF PROPERTY NORTH OF LANDFILL <br />On June 13, 1995, the Board of County Commissioners approved an <br />amendment to an existing contract with Florida Affinity, Inc., to <br />include services related to the acquisition of additional landfill <br />property. Under the provisions of the amendment, Florida Affinity, <br />Inc., would provide, or arrange for, all services needed to address <br />the acquisition of additional property for the landfill site. (See <br />copy of attached agenda item) <br />The term of the contract states, "Unless otherwise terminated in <br />accordance with its provisions, this agreement will remain in full <br />force and effect for a period of six months from the date hereof." <br />On November 16, 1995, a letter was sent to Mr. Hardee, President of <br />Florida Affinity, Inc., requesting an -extension to the contract for <br />a period of three months. (See copy of letter attached). <br />We are now before the Board of County Commissioners to request <br />approval for another extension to the contract for an additional <br />three (3) months to complete the existing transactions in the <br />purchase of the above -referenced property.
