40 <br />EJ <br />• <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79-100 <br />A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE NEED FOR A HOUSING <br />AUTHORITY IN THE COUNTY OF INDIAN RIVER, FLORIDA <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY COMMISSION OF INDIAN RIVER <br />;COUNTY, FLORIDA: <br />THAT the Commissioners of the County of Indian River, <br />Florida, hereby determine, find and declare in pursuance of the <br />"Housing Authorities Law" of the State of Florida, that: <br />1. Unsanitary and unsafe inhabited dwelling accommoda- <br />tions exist in the County of Indian River, Florida; and <br />'1 <br />i. <br />2. There is a shortage of safe and sanitary dwelling <br />accommodations in the County of Indian River, Florida, available <br />!;to families of low income at rentals they can afford; and <br />11 3. There is a need for a housing authority in the <br />;County of Indian River, Florida. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Board of <br />County Commissioners notify the Governor of the State of Florida <br />of the adoption of this resolution; and that the Clerk request <br />the Governor to commission five (5) persons who are qualified <br />electors of Indian River County, Florida to be commissioners of <br />the Indian River County Housing Authority as provided in the <br />Housing Authorities Law. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall be <br />effective immediately. <br />The motion to adopt said resolution was made by <br />Commissioner Siebert and seconded by Commissioner Lyons, and upon <br />roll call the following voted aye: <br />Willard W. Siebert, Jr. Alma Lee Loy William C. Wodtke, Jr. <br />R. Don Deeson Patrick B. Lyons <br />Nay: <br />Thereupon the Chairman declared this resolution duly <br />adopted and passed. <br />The Clerk was instructed to submit to the Governor the <br />names of five (5) qualified electors of Indian River County, <br />Florida and request the Governor commission those persons as <br />Commissioners of the Indian River County Housing Authority for j <br />the terms of years shown after each suggested name and to <br />designate one of them as the first Chairman of the Authority. <br />The persons, who are qualified electors of Indian River County, <br />Florida, suggested by the County Commissioners are: <br />Joseph B. Egan, III 4 years <br />Charles E. Block 4 years <br />
