RESOLUTION NO. 80-13 <br />A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A BEACH ACCESS <br />ON COUNTY AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OCEAN <br />FRONT LANDS, COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE <br />"TRACKING STATION PROPERTY", AND ALLOCATION <br />OF MONIES AND AUTHORIZATION OF ACTS IN <br />PURSUANCE THEREOF. <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County presently owns 6.21 acres, <br />more or less, of ocean front lands abutted by a track of Federal <br />Government lands that are or may become available to the county <br />as surplus property and which property is commonly referred to <br />as the "Tracking Station" property, and <br />WHEREAS, the county deems it in the public interest and <br />general welfare of the citizens of Indian River County to establish <br />a public beach access on said lands for the benefit of all the <br />citizens of Indian River County, and <br />WHEREAS, the Government Services Administration, an agency <br />of the federal government charged with disposing of surplus federal <br />lands, has requested that the county take certain steps to aid the <br />county in securing title to the surplus federal lands known as the <br />"Tracking Station Property", and <br />WHEREAS, the Indian River County Board of County <br />Commissioners and its departments desire to cooperate fully with <br />the Town of Indian River Shores regarding the establishment of <br />said beach access and subsequent phases as become necessary, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: <br />1. The amount of $50,000.00 is hereby allocated from <br />County Revenue Sharing Funds to create and develop said beach <br />access and development of subsequent phases as become necessary. <br />2. The County Administrator is hereby authorized to <br />create a service road, fence in the existing polishing pond <br />and create walkways on county property and take other administra- <br />tive steps necessary to provide public beach access and to avoid <br />
