BOOK 97 PAGE 493 <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, the state's juvenile crime problem has ramifications far beyond the <br />juvenile justice system and affects the health and integrity of the state's business, <br />community, education and family institutions; and <br />WHEREAS, the state, as well as Indian River County, must therefore employ a <br />comprehensive strategy to address the problem of juvenile crime if the problem is to be <br />effectively solved; and <br />WHEREAS, statewide there has been an increase in the number of youths <br />committed for delinquency in the last fiscal year, and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County will not tolerate the criminal activities of our youth; <br />and <br />' I WHEREAS, the citizens of the community need to have a heightened awareness <br />of juvenile justice issues; and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County will work with the Department of Juvenile Justice <br />and local businesses on programs for the prevention and intervention of juvenile justice: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Florida that the week of March 25-29, <br />1996 be designated as <br />JUVENILE JUSTICE WEEK <br />in Indian River County, and the Board further urges all citizens of our community to take <br />part in stopping or preventing juvenile delinquency and to make a conscious effort to learn <br />more about the programs for prevention and intervention. <br />Adopted this 12 day of March, 1996. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Fran B.
