RESOLUTION NO. 80-31 <br />WHEREAS, for over ten (10) years the Board of <br />County Commissioners for Indian River County, Florida has <br />been attempting to obtain title to the property described <br />below, but generally known as the "Tracking Station Property"; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners has worked <br />with Federal, State and Local Authorities in an attempt to <br />acquire the property; and <br />WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners has received <br />Notice that the property has now been declared surplus property <br />and is to be disposed of by the General Services Administration; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, That all necessary <br />steps are to be taken by the County, its employees and authorized <br />representatives to file the necessary forms, applications and <br />supporting materials to qualify for conveyance of the "Tracking <br />Station Property", described as: <br />PARCEL 1: <br />All that tract or parcel of land lying and being in <br />Government Lot 1, Section 20, Township 32 South, Range 40 East, <br />Tallahassee Meridian, Indian River County, Florida, and more <br />particularly described as follows: <br />Commencing at a concrete monument which is on the South <br />line and 349.14 feet S 890 45' 25" E of the Southwest corner of <br />said Section 20, and at a corner of a tract of land owned in fee <br />by the United States of America at Vero Beach Tracking Annex; <br />Thence N 001 13' 15" E along the boundary of said United <br />States tract and subsequently along the boundary of a tract of <br />land conveyed to Indian River County, Florida, by the United <br />States of America by quitclaim deed dated 24 August 1970, a <br />distance of 1350.0 feet to a corner of said tracts and the <br />POINT OF BEGINNING. <br />Thence continue N 001 13' 15" E along the boundary of said <br />United States tract 340 feet, more or less, to a point which is on <br />the mean high water line of the Atlantic Ocean, and at a corner <br />of said United States tract; <br />Thence Southeasterly along the meanders of said high water <br />line which is along the boundary of said United States tract 350 <br />feet, more or less, to a point on a line which bears S 890 45' 25" <br />E from the point of beginning, at a corner of said United States tract <br />and at a corner of said Indian River County tract; <br />Thence N 89° 45' 25" W along the boundary of said United <br />States tract which is along the boundary of said Indian River <br />County tract 90 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. <br />
