Request for Permission to Advertise the Proposed Ordinance <br />Amending Occupational License Tax <br />DELETED. <br />Z Miscellaneous Budget Amendment #016 <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of March 13, 1996: <br />TO: Members of the Board <br />of County Commissioners <br />DATE: March 13, 1996 <br />SUBJECT: MISCELLANEOUS BUDGET AMENDMENT 016 <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />FROM: Joseph A. Baird <br />OMB Director <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The attached budget amendment is to appropriate funding for the following: <br />The attached budget amendment establishes a separate special revenue Native Uplands <br />Acquisition Fund. Funding is provided by property developers payments for native uplands <br />mitigation and is used for the acquisition and management of native habitat preserve areas. <br />These funds were previously accounted for in an escrow account. <br />2. This entry increases the current year budget for the EDA grant for fund balance carried <br />forward. The grant project timetable was extended into the current fiscal year. <br />3. A Joint Participation Agreement was entered into between the Florida Department of <br />Transportation and the County for a Public Transit Block Grant in December, 1995. This <br />entry allocates the funds to be passed through to the Council on Aging to provide operating - <br />assistance and to be used as a portion of the required funding match for the County's <br />Federal Transit Section 9 Grant. <br />4. Increase needed in the Parks Department garbage and solid waste budget due to the Budget <br />Director's underestimation of solid waste assessments for this department. <br />5. Allocate funding for pumper approved at the March 7, 1995 Board of County Commission <br />meeting ($193,679) delivered in October, 1995 and tanker truck that was approved at <br />October 17, 1995 Board of County Commission meeting ($144,645) and was delivered <br />February, 1996. Due to tight budget constraints, it is necessary to use ALS revenues to <br />fund fire equipment. <br />6. Allocate funding for weatherization program approved by Board of County Commission at <br />the March 5, 1996 meeting. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve the attached budget amendment 016. <br />14 <br />March 19, 1996 <br />
