RESOLUTION NO. 81-22 <br />WHEREAS, the County of Indian River represents a unique <br />and important part of the headwaters of the St. Johns River <br />in the State of Florida; and <br />WHEREAS, the waters of the western portion of Indian River <br />County are important to the livelihood of over thirty percent <br />of the inhabitants of this County; and <br />WHEREAS, the Indian River County Board of Commissioners, <br />on April 15, 1981, unanimously voted to recommend D. VICTOR <br />KNIGHT, JR. to the St. Johns River Water Management District <br />Board to replace JOHN TRIPSON; and <br />WHEREAS, D. VICTOR KNIGHT, JR.'s diligent work on the St. <br />Johns River Water Management District Advisory Committee pro- <br />vided him with the proper background for this position; and <br />WHEREAS, D. VICTOR KNIGHT, JR.'s position as Chairman of <br />the Indian River Citrus League's Water & Land Management Com- <br />mittee further establishes a base and understanding of the <br />problems of the St. Johns River; and <br />WHEREAS, D. VICTOR KNIGHT, JR.'s long, personal experience <br />and understanding of the marsh and the river and its fluctua- <br />tions, combined with his other work on the River, make him an <br />excellent nomination to replace JOHN TRIPSON; and <br />WHEREAS, the Indian River County Board of Commissioners <br />acknowledges the fact that multiple other organizations have <br />voiced their support for D. VICTOR KNIGHT, JR.; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Indian River County <br />Board of Commissioners unanimously recommend to the Governor of <br />the State of Florida D.
