F-1 <br />40 <br />00 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 82- 31 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY INDICATING THE COUNTY'S INTENT <br />TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COST OF ACQUIRING COASTAL <br />PROPERTIES WITH THE STATE OF FLORIDA UNDER THE <br />"SAVE OUR COAST" PROGRAM. <br />WHEREAS, the Governor and Cabinet of the State of Florida <br />approved a procedure for selecting and acquiring desirable coastal <br />properties as part of a new "Save our Coast" program, and <br />WHEREAS, the hoard of County Commissioners of Indian <br />River County previously submitted proposals for participation in <br />the program, and <br />WHEREAS, the Commission after reviewing the program finds <br />and determines that it is a necessary and beneficial program and <br />participation by the County in the program is in the best interests <br />of the citizens of Indian River County in preserving a limited <br />natural resource for the enjoyment of current residents as well as <br />future generations. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY that; <br />A. The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County intends to participate financially with the State of Florida <br />in the acquisition of desirable coastal properties. <br />B. The County will favorably consider acceptance of the <br />development and management responsibility for any land acquired <br />under the project. <br />C. The County Commission urges the State of Florida <br />Department of Natural Resources, the Governor and Cabinet to <br />favorably review the County's proposal for participation in the <br />program. <br />The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner <br />Wodtke who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Lyons and, upon being put to a vote, the vote <br />was as follows: <br />Chairman Don C. Scurlock, Jr. Aye <br />Vice -Chairman A. Grover Fletcher Ave <br />Commissioner Patrick B. Lyons Aye <br />Commissioner William C. Wodtke, Jr. Aye <br />Commissioner Dick Bird Aye <br />-1- <br />
