RESOLUTION NO. 82-44 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, IN MEMORY AND HONOR <br />OF THE LATE A. RICHARD TODD. <br />® WHEREAS, the late A. RICHARD TODD passed away on <br />February 28, 1982, leaving behind a rich legacy for all citizens <br />of Vero Beach and Indian River County; and <br />WHEREAS, this unselfish and devoted civic leader shall <br />be forever remembered as the driving force, both physically and <br />00 <br />financially, behind the establishment and growth of the Indian <br />River County Volunteer Ambulance Squad, an organization which he <br />served as Chairman of the Board of Directors since its inception <br />in 1966; and <br />WHEREAS, the late A. RICHARD TODD can be.credited with <br />raising over half of the $890,000.00 initially invested•in the <br />community's beautiful Riverside Theater; and <br />WHEREAS, DIC{ TODD's interest toward the community and <br />talent as a fund raiser has benefited numerous other local <br />institutions, including the YMCA and the United Way Campaign; and <br />WHEREAS, it is altogether fitting and proper to take a <br />few moments to reconsider the character and achievements of this <br />great individual, and to express the sincere respect and <br />appreciation so well deserved. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE I`. RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, assembled in <br />regular session this 5th day of May, 1982, that the minutes of <br />this public body shall forever reflect that the late A. RICHARD <br />':ODD is hereby honored in memoriam for the many years of <br />benevolence, devotion, leadership, and personal human warmth <br />bestowed upon a single, grateful community. <br />The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner <br />Patrick B. Lyons who moved its adoption. The motion was <br />seconded by Commissioner Wodtke and, upon being put to a <br />vote, the vote was as follows: <br />Chairman Don C.
