RESOLUTION NO. 2022- 101 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, TO AUTHORIZE THE ST. LUCIE COUNTY <br />COMMISSION TO PARTICIPATE IN A JOINT MEETING <br />WITH THE ST. LUCIE COUNTY COMMISSION, THE <br />OKEECHOBEE COUNTY COMMISSION, AND THE <br />MARTIN COUNTY COMMISSION TO DISCUSS AND PLAN <br />MATTERS OF MUTUAL INTEREST; AND PROVIDING <br />FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County Commission, the St. Lucie County Commission, the <br />Okeechobee County Commission, and the Martin County Commission desire to participate in a <br />joint meeting to discuss and plan matters of mutual interest; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 125.001, Florida Statutes, authorizes county boards to meet and <br />discuss matters of mutual interest with one or more adjacent county or municipality; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 125.001, Florida Statutes, further states that such meetings may be <br />held at any appropriate public place within the jurisdiction of any participating county or <br />municipality, and requires that due public notice be provided within the jurisdiction of all <br />participating municipalities and counties; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 125.001, Florida Statutes, further requires that the governing body <br />of a county or municipality must first adopt a resolution authorizing participation in the joint <br />meeting, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE INDIAN RIVER BOARD OF <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS THAT: <br />Section 1. Pursuant to Section 125.001, Florida Statutes, the Board of County <br />Commissioners is hereby authorized to participate in a joint meeting with the St. Lucie County <br />Commissioners, the Okeechobee County Commissioners, and the Martin County Commissioners <br />on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the STEM Center Auditorium, Indian River State <br />College Pruitt Campus, 500 NW California Blvd, Port St. Lucie, Florida 34986 that will be <br />properly noticed within the jurisdiction of all participating counties. <br />taken. <br />Section 2.
