SEBASTIAN WATER CONNECTION - CR -512 AT LACONIA ROAD <br />FINAL PAYMENT, SPEEGLE CONSTRUCTION <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 4/1/96: <br />DATE: APRIL 1., 1996 <br />TO: JAMES E. CHANDLER <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRA <br />FROM: TERRANCE G. PINTCY <br />DIRECTOR OF UTI VI <br />PREPARED WILLIAM F. M <br />AND STAFFED CAPITAL PR ENGINEER <br />BY: DEP O ILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: SEBASTIAN WATER CONNECTION; 512 AT LACONIA ROAD <br />FINAL PAY REQUEST ON CONNECTION 2-A AND CHANGE <br />ORDER NO. 2 A <br />Background <br />On August 8, 1995 the Indian River County Board of County <br />Commissioners approved a contract with Speegle Construction, in the <br />amount of $452,534.00. The portion associated with Laconia at <br />State Road 512 is complete and we wish to finalize this portion of <br />the project. There has been an increase to the cost of this <br />connection in the amount of $3,894.08. (Please see change order <br />2-A) However, we are still below the contract amount, as this <br />increase is more than offset by a previous reduction (i.e. Change <br />Order 1-A in the amount of $8,009.40). For details please see <br />change order 2-A and the quantity reconciliation sheet attached. <br />Analysis <br />We are seeking final payment to the contractor on this portion of <br />the project. The contract, upon finalization of this portion of <br />the project, will be $4,115.32 below the original authorized <br />contract. The increase in this connection was due to changes to <br />accommodate existing pipes under State Road 512 which were <br />inherited from the City of Sebastian and the connection at State <br />Road 510. (See attached quantity reconciliation sheet) <br />Recommendation <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners approve the attached change order <br />2-A, and final pay request as presented. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />Change Order 2-A and final payment to Speegle <br />Construction, as set out in staff's recommendation. <br />CHANGE ORDER 2-A IS ON FILE IN OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />38 <br />APRIL 169 1996 BOOK ' '97 FF X46 <br />
