RESOLUTION NO. 83-104 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA AMENDING RESOLUTION <br />NO. 82-118, PROVIDING FOR REVISION IN CONCEALED <br />WEAPONS PERMIT APPLICATION FEE. <br />WHEREAS, Section 8-25 of the Code of Laws and <br />Ordinances of Indian River County, Florida provides for the estab- <br />lishment of an administrative fee to offset the costs of proces- <br />sing applications for concealed weapons licenses; and <br />WHEREAS, $2.00 of the current fee paid by each appli- <br />cant directly offsets the cost of obtaining a Florida Department <br />of Law Enforcement criminal record inquiry search; and <br />WHEREAS, the FDLE has announced an increase in the fee <br />for this service from $2.00 to $5.00 per request, effective <br />November 1, 1983; and <br />WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Offi;e of Indian River County <br />has requested that this fee increase be passed along to the <br />license applicant, rather than be absorbed by the general taxpay- <br />ing public. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that: <br />1. Paragraph 3 A is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />A. Initial application fee $47.00 {044TGe* ; which <br />sum includes $17.00 E014-99+ for fingerprint examination reports <br />by Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Federal Bureau of <br />Investigation, and $30.00 for local detective investigation and <br />publication of notice of application, payable with submission of <br />completed application. <br />2. The rest of Resolution No. 82-118 shall remain in <br />full force and effect as originally adopted by this Board. <br />The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner <br />Scurlock who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded <br />by Commissioner Lyons and, upon being put to a vote, the <br />vote was as follows: <br />Chairman Richard N. Bird Aye <br />Vice -Chairman Don C.
