making the current policy committee, i.e., a Commissioner from each <br />of the Indian River Lagoon counties plus EPA, DEP, etc., an <br />Advisory Committee to the St. Johns River and South Florida Water <br />Management Districts. The Water Management Districts have agreed <br />to oversee the implementation of the CCMP. The attached committee <br />list has been approved by St. Johns and South Florida Water <br />Management District. <br />Because. we are an integral participant in the Indian River <br />Lagoon restoration I am requesting that the Board of County <br />Commissioners adopt this committee as our Lagoon advisor. We can <br />expect, look forward to, and depend on this committee to advise us <br />on lagoon -related matters, i.e., restoration, management, whatever. <br />This group will be a resource in our new direction to restore the <br />Indian River Lagoon. <br />PROPOSED ADVISORY;COMMITTEE,- <br />FOR THE <br />INDIAN RIVER LAGOON <br />The Advisory Committee to the St Johns and South Florida River <br />Water Management Districts regarding issues of importance to the <br />Lagoon basin shah consist of the following: <br />Clete Oakley, Volusia County <br />Comm. Janet Gettig, Martin County <br />Stallings Howell, US EPA Region IV <br />Vivian Garfein, FL Dept. of Environmental --Protection <br />Jim Swann, St Johns River Water Management District <br />Nathaniel Reed, South Florida Water Management District <br />Charles Padera, Chair of the IRLNEP Management Committee <br />William Kerr, Chair of the IRLNEP Citizens Action Committee <br />Dr. John Windsor, Chair of the IRLNEP Technical Advisory <br />Committee <br />The above roster is submitted to ' the Chair of each of the Water <br />Management Districts" Governing Board for approval and appointment. <br />aA P <br />Chairman Adams advised that the each of the participating <br />counties are being asked to approve advancement of the existing <br />policy committee to the advisory committee on the Indian River <br />Lagoon to the St. Johns River Water Management District, which now <br />takes over the implementation of the CCMP (Comprehensive <br />Conservation Management Plan) for the Indian River Lagoon. <br />Chairman Adams advised that there will be a presentation of <br />the CCMP on June 22nd.
