f JUN 20 <br />1984 7 51.E <br />RESOLUTION NO. 84-44 <br />0 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA DEDICATING I-95 TO <br />THE VETERANS OF THE UNITED STATES ARMED SERVICES <br />WHEREAS, the Veterans of the Armed Services have given of <br />themselves to serve their country; and <br />WHEREAS, there have been Veterans who have sacrificed their <br />lives, their health, or their livelihood as a result of their <br />military service, and <br />WHEREAS, it seems only fitting and just to honor these <br />persons who have done so much to protect the "Life, Liberty and <br />Pursuit of Happiness" we all so freely enjoy; and <br />WHEREAS, the heroism of these same Veterans is all too <br />quickly forgotten; and <br />WHEREAS, we feel that the Veterans of the Armed ServicPc <br />are truly deserving of recognition for risking their lives in <br />fulfilling their military obligation: <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: <br />1. This Board support the adoption of legislation <br />dedicating I-95 to the Veterans of the United States Armed <br />Services. <br />2. This Board request the Department of Transportation, the <br />Legislative Delegation and the Legislature of the State of <br />Florida, to support and adopt legislation dedicating I-95 to the <br />Veterans of the United States Armed Services. <br />The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner Lyons <br />who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Wodtke and, upon being put to a vote, the votes was as follows: <br />Chairman Don C. Scurlock, Jr. Aye <br />Vice Chairman Patrick B.
