RESOLUTION NO. 84- 70 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COKKISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, .FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR <br />RELIEF WASTEWATER ALLOCATIONS FOR COUNTY WASTEWATER <br />to SYSTEMS SERVED THROUGH ALLOCATION FROM THE CITY <br />OF VERO BEACH WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT. <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County provides restricted <br />wastewater service along the U.S. l/ 6th Avenue corridor through <br />limited allocation from the City of Vero Beach Wastewater Treat- <br />ment Plant; and <br />WHEREAS, wastewater improvements are being constructed <br />by private enterprise within the U.S. 1 / 6th Avenue corridor; <br />and; <br />WHEREAS, The Department of Health and Rehabilitative <br />Services has declared the U.S. 1 / 6th Avenue corridor to be an <br />environmentally sensitive area that is subject to public health <br />hazards and pollution problems due to problem prone and failing <br />on-site wastewater disposal systems; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners desires to <br />provide wastewater service to existing buildings to eliminate <br />disposal systems considered by the Department of Health and <br />Rehabilitative Services to be a public health hazard or pollution <br />problem. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that: <br />The Indian River County Board of County Commissioners is <br />authorized to grant upon recommendation of the Division of Utility <br />Services, relief wastewater allocation and subsequent wastewater <br />service to existing buildings, on request for same, whose existing <br />on-site wastewater disposal systems are declared by the Department <br />of Health and Rehabilitative Services to be a public health hazard <br />or a pollution problem. <br />The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner <br />Bird who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded <br />by Commissioner Wodtke and, upon being put to a vote, the <br />-1- <br />
