She announced that the Council on Aging will be giving <br />free rides May 13-17, and children can ride free if they are with <br />their mother: <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, Older Americans are significant members of our society, investing their <br />wisdom and experience to help enrich and better the lives of younger generations and those <br />less fortunate; and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County is fortunate to have numerous Older Americans who <br />are valuable contributors of both time and resources which make this a better community; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, allowing Older Americans to maintain their dignity, self-worth and <br />independence is the foremost way to benefit from the experiences, skills and knowledge of <br />this outstanding group of citizens, and <br />WHEREAS, the Indian River County Council on Aging has provided services to <br />Older Americans for over 22 years with Senior Centers in Vero Beach and Sebastian offering <br />activities, programs and socialization, as well as in-home services for those in need such as <br />Meals on Wheels, telephone reassurance, Adult Day Care and transportation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that the month of May, <br />1996 be designated as. <br />OLDER AMERICANS MONTH <br />in Indian River County, and the Board urges all citizens of this county to recognize the <br />unselfish efforts and many hard working hours that are volunteered by the Older Americans. <br />Adopted this 7 day of May, 1996. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />LFran({5 <br />Adams, <br />PRESENTATION BY FELLSMERE VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE <br />SERVICE <br />Buddy Akers, president of Fellsmere Volunteer Ambulance <br />Service, which is no longer in business, wished to announce that <br />2 <br />MAY 7, 1996 <br />O � � <br />
