RESOLUTION NO. 84-98 <br />WHEREAS, Paul Palmiotto arrived in the Vero Beach area <br />® <br />in March, 1980 to serve as the Urban -County Forester under the <br />Division of Forestry of the Florida Department of Agriculture and <br />Consumer Services; and <br />® <br />WHEREAS, during the past four and one half -years, Paul <br />Palmiotto coordinated or lent guidance to countless <br />beautification, landscaping, and tree protection projects <br />throughout every part of Indian River County, in addition to <br />providing thousands of hours of personal assistance and education <br />to individuals on forestry -related matters; and <br />WHEREAS, the evidence of Paul Palmict�to's contribution <br />® <br />to the public can be best experienced by traveling through the <br />arboreous splendor of many of this area's public parks, school <br />grounds, and major transportation corridors; and <br />I "-i v" <br />WHEREAS, 'Pal_m' Palmiotto's untiring commitment to <br />educating the public in his field has earned him state-wide <br />recognition and a promotion to becr..ie Forestry Programs <br />Administrator for the State Division of Forestry in Tallahassee; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is altogether fitting and proper for the <br />Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida on <br />behalf of all citizens in the County, to formally commend Paul <br />Palmiotto for his professional achievements and his contribution <br />to the vigor and beauty of the urban forest within which we <br />all reside. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that the foregoing <br />recitals are affirmed and that sincere appreciation and best <br />wishes for success are extended to Paul Palmiotto, "The Urban <br />Forester," for his years of effective public service and for a <br />visual legacy which will surely grow more splendid and satisfying <br />as the years progress. <br />The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner <br />Bird who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Bowman and, upon being put to a vote, the vote was <br />as follows: <br />Chairman Don C. Scurlock, Jr. Aye <br />Vice -Chairman Patrick B.
