RESOLUTION NO. 85- 68 <br />` A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, REQUESTING DESIGNATION OF <br />THE COUNTY AS AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />AREA. <br />WHEREAS, the U. S. Department of Labor has determined <br />that Indian River County is statistically qualified for designa- <br />tion as a redevelopment area under Section 401(a)(8) of the Public <br />Works and Economic Development Act of 1965, as amended; and <br />WHEREAS, upon designation pursuant to this qualifica- <br />tion, the County will be eligible for the full range of financial <br />assistance available for all economic development administration <br />redevelopment areas; and <br />WHEREAS, the County will be so designated only if it <br />submits to EDA an official request for such designation and takes <br />appropriate action thereafter to adopt an acceptable overall <br />economic development program. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOARD OF <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />that: <br />1. The attached plan is hereby affirmed and adopted as <br />the County's overall economic development plan; and <br />2. The staff is authorized to request on behalf of the <br />County that Indian River County be designated by the Economic <br />Development Administration as an EDA redevelopment area. <br />The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner <br />Scurlock who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded <br />by Commissioner Wodtke and, upon being put to a vote, the <br />vote was as follows: <br />Chairman Patrick B. Lyons Aye <br />Vice -Chairman Don C.
