Hibiscus Children's Center <br />SafeCare Program <br />Grant amount: $35,000 <br />Funds used: $35,000 <br />Total new children served: 4 <br />Total unduplicated children served YTD= 85 <br />Total new adults: 2 <br />Total unduplicated adults served YTD= 40 <br />Cost per child: $ 380.12 <br />Focus Area: Building Parent Capacity <br />Program Description: SafeCare is an evidence -based training program for parents who are at - <br />risk or have been reported for child abuse and neglect. Families are referred by the Department <br />of Children and Families as well as the community referrals. An intake assessment is completed <br />with the family to evaluate parental stress scales and obtain a baseline on parenting skills. The <br />program is approximately 18 weeks consisting of 3 modules or 6 sessions each. Each module <br />includes a baseline session for assessing skills, practice sessions, and a post session. <br />Collaboration: The program is a collaborative program between Hibiscus Children's Center and <br />Behavior Basics providing parents weekly home visits with strategic focus on safety, parent- <br />child interaction, and health. Safecare also collaborates with Communities Connect for Kids and <br />the Department of Children and Families monthly to discuss referrals, case closures, successful <br />closures, and overall program operations. <br />Goal 1: To maintain at least 95 percent or more of families served having no verified reports <br />of abuse or neglect during services as measured by the ability to search FSFN (Florida Safe <br />Families Network). <br />• 4 I Quarter Result: 100% (4 of4) families did not have any verified findings of abuse while <br />receiving services. <br />• Cumulative Results: 42 out of 43 families did not have any verified findings of abuse <br />while receiving services. <br />Goal 2: 90% of families served will have no verified reports of abuse or neglect 6 months and <br />12 months post services as measured by the ability to search FSFN (Florida Safe Families <br />Network). <br />• 4th Quarter Result: 100 % (3 of 3) families served had no verified reports of abuse or <br />neglect 6 months post services and 86% (6/7)12 months post services as measured by <br />the ability to search FSFN (Florida Safe Families Network). <br />Cumulative Results: <br />• 24/24100% families served had no verified reports of abuse or neglect at 6 months <br />150 <br />
