(Spiezle), for a lump sum amount of $66,500, for the
architectural design services for the expansion of current Emergency Operations Center (EOC). The
expansion is contemplated to be a two-story (10,000 sf per floor) building located on the north side of the
existing EOC.
The purpose of Amendment No. 1 is to compensate Spiezle for additional work needed to complete the
study phase. The existing survey of the property has to be updated to include all features, structures, and
landscaping (trees). Additionally, further field exploration is needed to provide subsurface data from soil
borings in areas of proposed parking areas and proposed heavy duty vehicle driveway to the warehouse
expansion area.
FUNDING
The cost associated with the master plan study phase is $66,500. Funding for the project design is
budgeted and available in the amount of $700,000, with $350,000 from Impact Fees/Fire
Services/Emergency Operations Center Expansion account (10312022-066510-20037) and the remaining
$350,000 from Impact fees/Public Buildings/Emergency Operations Center Expansion account (10322019-
066510-20037).
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approving Amendment No. 1 to Agreement for Professional Services for Emergency
Operations Center Expansion with Spiezle and requests the Board authorize the Chairman to execute
Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement on their behalf for a lump sum amount of $3,600. The new total
agreement price will be $70,100.
ATTACHMENT
Amendment No. 1 with Donadio and Associates Architects, PA, A Spiezle Group Inc.
AGENDA ITEM FOR MAY 16, 2023
C:\Granicus\Legistar5\L5\Temp\ebOb8717-b200-46d3-9bd4-efc8f7e5e250.docx 136
