2S W CONSENT AG E N DA INDIAN RIVER COUNTY OFFICE OF MANAGEMENT AND BUDGET PURCHASING DIVISION DATE: May 12, 2023 TO: BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS THROUGH: John Titkanich, County Administrator Kristin Daniels, Budget Director FROM: Jennifer Hyde, Purchasing Manager SUBJECT: Disposition of Excess Equipment at Jackie Robinson Training Center BACKGROUND: Major League Baseball ("MLB") has notified staff of its intent to have the Jackie Robinson Training Center ("JRTC") Executive Building ("Championship Hall") demolished in the coming weeks. This facility contains exercise equipment, some of which is owned, and tagged as assets, by the County. Additionally, MLB is offering to donate the equipment it owns in the building to the County. The County has no need for the equipment, and much of it is very heavy, and therefore cumbersome for staff to temporarily relocate. Therefore, staff proposes to dispose of the equipment by first offering to donate it to the School District of Indian River County, or any other School District that may be interested. Any equipment that is not accepted for donation will be sold via online auction, and directly removed by the buyer. Any equipment that is not sold or donated will remain in the building and become property and responsibility of the demolition contractor for disposal. A final disposition for each of the items below will be brought back to the Board.
