CORRENTE ON HER RETIREMENT FROM THE <br />INDIANRIVER COUNTYBOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />DEPARTMENT OF UTILITY SER VICES/GENERAL & ENGINEERING DIVISION <br />WHEREAS, Cynthia M. (Cindy) Corrente will retire from the Indian River County Department of Utility Services <br />effective June 30, 2023; and <br />WHEREAS, Cindy began her career as a civil servant working within the School District of Indian River County, <br />where she worked for 14 plus years and retired in 2003. <br />WHEREAS, following her retirement from the School District, Cindy began working with Indian River County as <br />a Staff Accountant within the Finance Department of the Clerk of Court's office from 2003-2004. <br />WHEREAS, Cindy then transferred to the Indian River County Department of Utility Services on June 2, 2004, <br />where she has worn multiple hats over her illustrious nineteen (19) year career. She started out as a Controller in the <br />General & Engineering Division. From there, she became the Assistant Director of Utility Services on March 10, 2006 <br />and then the Utilities Finance Manager on September 4, 2012, where she has continued until her retirement <br />WHEREAS, Cindy was able to easily collaborate with engineers, operations staff and interested externalparties <br />to bring projects, such as Spoonbill Marsh and Osprey Acres, online to the betterment of the Indian River Lagoon. <br />WHEREAS, Cindy was always willing to go the extra mile to get the job done and assist the Department of Utility <br />Services in any way possible, including working through the night to assist crews with water main breaks, working with <br />citizens when they were struggling to pay their water bills and even serving as the Interim Utilities Director for a stint <br />WHEREAS, Cindy was instrumental in ensuring the financial strength of the Department of Utility Services by <br />overseeing a variety of long overdue studies, evaluating and adjusting ordinances when necessary and steadfastly <br />collecting past due debts owed to the Department <br />WHEREAS, Cindy has served this County and the Public with distinction and selflessness. During her 19 years <br />of service, she was dedicated, and her work was greatly appreciated by her employer, the citizens, and her co-workers <br />alike; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN <br />RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board applauds Cindy Corrente's efforts on behalf of the County, and the Board <br />wishes to express their appreciation for the dedicated service she has given to Indian River Countyfor the last 19 years; <br />and <br />BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that the Board of County Commissioners and staff extend heartfelt wishes for <br />success in her future endeavors! <br />Adopted this 16th day of May, 2023. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Joseph H.
