SUMMARY OF FINDINGS <br />3.1 By Place of residence <br />The following tables show beach users (people) by place of reported residence. <br />Table 3 <br />Percent Beach Users by Place of Residence <br />Interpretation: This table represents the percentage of individual beach users on each beach <br />by place of residence. <br />The numbers inside the table represent the percentage of people on each beach by place of <br />residence. For example 35.9% of the people in the parties found on Sections 1 & 2 Beach <br />resided in Indian River County. The numbers in the extreme right column represent the <br />percentage of respondents on all beaches who resided in a particular place. For example <br />46.1 % of the people in the parties found on all beaches resided in Indian River County. <br />Overall, the survey found more than half of the beach users found on the beach were not <br />residents of Indian River County. <br />Beach users were classified as residents if they indicated that they resided ill Indian River <br />County or as visitors if the indicated that they did not live in Indian River County. Visitors <br />were identified by their place of residence: Bevard County, Martin County, St Lucie <br />County, other Florida, other United States, or Foreign. Visitors were also classified by <br />length of stay. Overnight visitors reside outside Indian River County and indicated that <br />they remained in Indian River Comm overnight.
