C> <br />1 <br />(UGCO2623.FMT):aa <br />SECTION 02623 <br />WATER MAINS <br />POLYVINYL CHLORIDE PIPE <br />1.01 SCOPE <br />This section covers polyvinyl chloride pipe and fittings <br />for water mains. <br />1.02 GENERAL <br />Polyvinyl chloride (p.v.c.) pipe shall be allowed for use <br />as water pipe where compatible with the specific <br />conditions of the project. The use of material other the <br />polyvinyl chloride may be required during construction <br />permit review or by iRCDUS field personnel if it is <br />determined thht polyvinyl chloride pipe is unsuitable for <br />the particular application. <br />1.03 PIPE MATERIALS FOR SIZES 4" THROUGH 1211 <br />A. All pipe and fittings intended for conveying or <br />transmitting treated water shall be designed for a <br />minimum working pressure of 150 psi. <br />B. Polyvinyl chloride pressure pipe shall conform tax <br />the latest AWWA Standards 0900 and ASTM D1784 and <br />D2241, latest revision. P.V.C. pressure pipe shall <br />be made from Class 12454-A or Klass 12454-8 <br />material and conform with the outside diameter of <br />cast iron pipe with a minimum wall thickness of <br />DR18. <br />C. The pipe shall be blue in color. <br />1.04 PIPE MATERIALS FOR SIZES 1411 THROUGH 3611 <br />A. All pipe and fittings intended for conveying or <br />transmitting treated water shall be designed for a <br />minimum working pressure of 150 psi. <br />B. Polyvinyl chloride pressure pipe shall conform to <br />the latest AWWA Standards 0905 and ASTM D1704, <br />latest revision. P.V.C. pressure pipe shall be <br />made from Class 12454f -A or Class 12454-5 material <br />and conform with the outside diameter of cast iron <br />pipe with a minimum wall thickness of DRIB. <br />02623-1 <br />
