RESOLUTION NO. 2023- <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER <br />COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRMAN'S EXECUTION OF A STATE <br />HIGHWAY SYSTEM PROJECT FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH THE FLORIDA <br />DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR TRAFFIC MONITORING SYSTEM <br />TECHNOLOGY UPDATE <br />WHEREAS, it is a policy of the State of Florida to construct and make improvements to the State Transportation <br />System in a cooperative partnership with local government entities; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 339.12, Florida Statutes, authorizes the State of Florida Department of Transportation <br />(FDOT) and local governmental entities in the State of Florida to enter into agreements where the local governmental <br />entity agrees to perform a non -revenue producing FDOT adopted work program and the FDOT agrees to reimburse the <br />local governmental entity for the costs of the program; and <br />WHEREAS, on July 1, 2015, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County approved a Traffic <br />Signal Maintenance and Compensation Agreement with the FDOT to receive compensation for maintenance of FDOT <br />traffic signals within Indian River County; and <br />WHEREAS, the State of Florida, Department of Transportation, has requested Indian River County to execute <br />and deliver to the State of Florida, Department of Transportation, a State Highway System Proj ect Funding Agreement to <br />update FDOT traffic signal control related equipment maintained by the County; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Chairman of the Board is hereby authorized to make, execute, and <br />deliver to the State of Florida, Department of Transportation, a State Highway System Proj ect Funding Agreement for the <br />aforementioned project. <br />The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner who moved its adoption. The motion <br />was seconded by Commissioner and, upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: <br />Chairman, Joseph H. Earman <br />Vice Chairman, Susan Adams <br />Commissioner Joseph E.
