Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes - Final <br />June 6, 2023 <br />from staff on the breakdown and analysis of how the pennies are used and how the <br />pennies could be distributed both under the County's Code and statute in order to <br />have a more in-depth conversation. <br />A motion was made by Vice Chairman Adams, seconded by Chairman Earman, to <br />direct staff to bring back to the Board a breakdown and analysis of the increase of the <br />Tourist/Bed Tax by one penny (1 cent) to five (5 cents), the distribution of the <br />pennies, and changing the County's Code to allow as much of the additional penny as <br />possible to go toward beach renourishment. <br />The Board and staff weighed in regarding the intent of the motion. It was stressed <br />that no modifications would be made at this time. <br />Bob McPartlan expressed his gratitude to Chairman Earman for presenting the Item <br />and expressed his support for discussing it further at a future Board meeting. <br />A motion was made by Vice Chairman Adams, seconded by Chairman Earman, <br />to direct staff to bring back to the Board a breakdown and analysis of the <br />increase of the "TourisVBed/Tax". by one penny (1 cent) to five (5 cents), the <br />distribution of the pennies, and changing the County's Code to allow as much of <br />the additional penny as possible to go toward beach renourishment.
