RESOLUTION 2023-006 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, APPROVING AN ADOPT -A -PARK <br />PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING THE PARKS AND <br />RECREATION DIRECTOR TO ENTER INTO <br />AGREEMENTS FOR THE PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, the Indian River County Parks and Recreation Division is interested in <br />creation of an Adopt -A -Park Program (Program) for various community profit and non- <br />profit organizations to volunteer to pick up litter in and around designated County Parks, <br />Conservation Lands, and Beaches; and <br />WHEREAS, in exchange for voluntary litter pick up, the County will install signage <br />bearing the name of the volunteer group at the park/conservation land/beach; and <br />WHEREAS, there are organizations interested in participating in the Program; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Board desires to encourage participation in the Program in order <br />to keep Parks, Conservation Lands, and Beaches free of litter, and to instill pride in our <br />County Parks and Beaches. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA: <br />1. The Board hereby approves the Adopt -A -Park program. <br />2. The Parks and Recreation Director is hereby authorized to enter into Agreements <br />on behalf of the Board with interested individuals and organizations for the Adopt -A -Park <br />program, said agreements to be approved in advance by the County Attorney's Office, <br />and which are substantially in compliance with the attached Agreement, Exhibit "A". <br />The foregoing Resolution was offered by Commissioner jos nh E. F1esche_r <br />and seconded by Commissioner Laura Mo s s and, upon being put to a vote, <br />the vote was as follows: <br />Chairman Joseph H.
