Boa- 98 gmflit 417 <br />Commissioner Eggert remarked that the proposed agreement with <br />the City of Vero Beach had not been submitted in the agenda backup, <br />and Administrator Chandler advised that it had been received just <br />recently, and the others were expected very soon. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />the interlocal agreements with all five <br />municipalities, as recommended in the Memorandum. <br />INTERLOCAL AGREEMENTS ARE ON FILE <br />IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT - SR 60 AND INDIAN <br />RIVER MALL MAIN ENTRANCE - DEBARTOLO PROPERTIES <br />MANAGEMENT, INC. <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of June 11, 1996: <br />TO: James E. Chandler, <br />County Administrator <br />THROUGH: James W. Davis, P.E. <br />Public Works Director <br />FROM: Christopher R. Mora, P. E. <br />County Traffic Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Traffic Signal Maintenance Agreement <br />SR60 and Indian River Mall Main Entrance <br />RE: Letter from Thomas J. Presby, DeBartolo Properties <br />Management, Inc. to Christopher R. Mora, <br />dated June 3, 1996 <br />DATE: June 11, 1996 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />DeBartolo Properties Management, Inc. (DPMI) is required to install <br />a traffic signal on S.R. 60 at the main entrance of the new Indian <br />River Mall. The total design, construction and maintenance costs <br />of the traffic signal will be funded by DPMI. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The County currently maintains all of the traffic signals in the <br />County. This agreement would allow the County to integrate the new <br />Mall traffic signal into the County's coordinated signal system. <br />The County would be responsible for operating, maintaining and <br />upgrading the traffic signal as necessary. <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />Approve the maintenance agreement and authorize the chairman <br />to execute it on behalf of the County. <br />Alternative No. 2 <br />Deny approval. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS & FUNDING <br />Staff recommends Alternative No. 1 whereby the agreement is <br />approved.
