Titkanich, Jr., County Administrator <br />David Johnson, Director, Department of Emergency Services <br />FROM: Erin Sawyer, Mitigation & Recovery Specialist <br />Department of Emergency Services <br />DATE: July 24, 2023 <br />SUBJECT: WeatherSTEM Phase 1 Extension of State -Funded Maintenance <br />Costs <br />Background: <br />On November 5, 2019 Indian River County entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) <br />with the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) for the use of WeatherSTEM <br />stations, with FDEM agreeing to be responsible for the maintenance, repair, software updates and <br />any other costs associated with the Weather Station for three (3) years. The MOA was due to expire <br />on June 30, 2023. <br />On June 28, 2023, a memorandum from FDEM was received by Indian River County Division of <br />Emergency Management with notification that they would be extending the funding of the costs <br />for the Weather Station for an additional three (3) years, which will now expire on June 30, 2026. <br />All provisions of the MOA shall remain in full force and effect. <br />Recommendation: <br />No action by the Board is necessary <br />Attachments: <br />1.
