Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes - Final September 12, 2023 <br />back into her department's fiscal year 2022-2023 budget. She noted the $3,579.20 in <br />funds would be used to pay for unfunded mandates contained in State Senate Bill <br />7050. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Flescher, seconded by Commissioner Loar, <br />to approve request to have the revenue received from petition verification fees <br />and data list preparation be rolled back in to the Supervisor of Elections FY <br />2022-2023 budget. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />PROOF OF PUBLICATION FOR THIS HEARING IS ON FILE IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD. <br />10.A.1. 23-0672 Local Provider Participation Fund Approval <br />Recommended action: County staff recommends that the Board open the public hearing, take public <br />comment and then vote whether to approve the Local Provider Participation Fund <br />Resolution and Letter of Agreement. <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />LPPF Resolution <br />Letter of Agreement <br />Affidavit of Publication - LFFP <br />County Attorney Bill DeBraal briefly described the Local Provider Participation <br />Fund (LPPF) which helped hospitals recoup unreimbursed costs from Medicare. <br />Attorney Michael Poche, with Adelanto Healthcare Ventures, appeared before <br />the Board to discuss the LPPF which helped close the gap between hospitals' <br />expenses and the less -than -full amount they received from Medicare. <br />The Chairman opened the public hearing. <br />Ron Bierman, Sebastian River Medical Center, thanked the Board for their <br />support and provided statistics regarding costs and losses sustained by acute care <br />hospitals around the Country. <br />Warren Fuller, Cleveland Clinic, noted the LPPF helped the hospital maintain and <br />expand their services, and thanked the Board for supporting it. <br />There being no further comments, the Chairman closed the public hearing. <br />Indian River County Florida Page 10 <br />
