May 25, 1999 <br />5. GENERAL CONSTRUC'T'ION REOUIREMENTS: <br />A. Materials Handling_ 'Che Contractor shall make arrangements at this own expense for the <br />unloading and storing of materials at an approved location until needed for installation. <br />Under no circumstances will pipe, materia;s, or structures placed on the job site obstruct <br />driveways or streets or be placed within three feet of the pavement of streets or highways. <br />The Contractor shall provide and maintain approved barricades, warning lights, and guards <br />necessary for the protection of the public. The Contractor shall coordinate said barricades, <br />lights, and guards with the County. <br />B. Cofinemgnl of Operations• All construction operations by the Contractor shall be confined <br />to public rights-of-way, easements, or building sites secured by the County for this work. No <br />equipments moving, parking, material storage, etc., shall be permitted on private property <br />without the property owner's consent in writing. <br />The Contractor shall be re¢ponsible for trespassing upon private property and for damage to <br />any property, public or private. <br />Easements and rights-of-way are shown in approximate location on the Drawings and have <br />been obtained by the County. The Contractor shall be fully responsible for constructing the <br />work within the legal rights-of-way and easements. <br />6. PERMITS AND LICENSES <br />Right -of -Way Permits required for construction within the public right-of-way will be issued by the <br />Public Works Department, Indian River County, at no cost to the Contractor. Any permits for <br />disposal of materials shall be the Contractor's responsibility. See Section 7 of the Special Provisions. <br />7. DISPOSITION OF' DEBRIS <br />All debris shall be removed and disposed of by the Contractor and approved by the Engineer. It is <br />the Contractor's responsibility to obtain all necessary permits. <br />8. LAYOUT OF WORK AND AS -BUILT DRAWINGS: The contractor will provide survey work to <br />establish right-of-way, base lines, centerlines, and grades as may be required for the work prior to any <br />construction. The Contractor shall protect these controls. The Contractor shall keep records on <br />project modifications with sufficient detail so that as -built drawings may be prepared to the Engineer's <br />satisfaction at the Contractor's cost. Contractor shall be responsible for establishing all finished <br />grades with the benchmark datum provided on the plans. <br />SP -2
