BOX 78-1377, SEBASTIAN!, FL 32978-1377 SEBASTIAN (561) 589.0712 <br />MELBOURNE (4 07) 769-8488 <br />FAX(581)589.6469 <br />Shooting Range -4- June 16, 1998 <br />A minimum of six inches of cemented coquina rock (LBR 100) or <br />limerock should be used for the road base and compacted to 98% <br />percent of its modified proctor value (AASHTO T180) . A minimum of <br />1611 separation should be maintained between the bottom of the base <br />and the high seasonal groundwater table. <br />The asphalt wearing surface should consist of 1--112" minimum- of <br />Type S-1 or S-3 in accordance to the `Florida Department of <br />Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge <br />Construction'. <br />3. Boxing, L :_ <br />The boring logs indicate the subsurface conditions are generally <br />well drained soils consisting mostly of gray and brown sand. No <br />"muck" or other unsuitable soils were encountered in the test <br />borings except for the typical surface vegetation soils. <br />Based on our site investigation, the existing soils are considered <br />satisfactory as structural fill and road construction. Also, with <br />proper site preparation, the soils should be able to support the <br />proposed structures on conventional shallow footings. <br />E. Site Preparation: <br />: <br />The proposed building area and areas to be paved, plus a minimum <br />margin of five feet beyond the proposed construction shall be <br />stripped and grubbed of any remaining surface debris, inc:luLuily <br />vegetation, roots and organic matter. The buiiding area should be <br />graded level and proofrolled. Any soft yielding areas shall be <br />excavated and replaced with clean compacted fill. Sufficient <br />passes should be made during compaction operations to produce a <br />density no less than 95 percent of its modified dry Proctor value <br />(ASTM D 1557) to a depth of two feet. <br />
