We <br />also visit students in class once a week. The visit to class is to be visual and get all make up work and any <br />area of concern. We walk with our parents sitting in meeting about their child behavior or academics. We <br />coach our parents on holding and conducting a meeting when it comes to advocating for their child or <br />children, translating all information so that our parents walk away empower and involved. We use steps 1. <br />Show 2. Assist 3. Step back. Our parents have the support and encouragement that they are in control of <br />their IEP, 504, and any other things that are going to help their child to be successful. Helping Hands has <br />created opportunities for our parents to show up in the school on great opportunities like family engagement <br />week where they're able to sit in the classroom and have lunch with their child or children. <br />
