Titkanich, Jr., County Administrator <br />David Johnson, Director of Emergency Services <br />Ryan Lloyd, Emergency Management Coordinator <br />FROM: Rachel Ivey, Emergency Management Planner II <br />Department of Emergency Services <br />DATE: October 11, 2023 <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Interlocal Agreement between the Indian River County Board of <br />County Commissioners and the Indian River County Sheriff's Office to Provide <br />Meals for Declared and Local Emergencies <br />It is respectfully requested that the information contained herein be given formal consideration by <br />the Board of County Commissioners at the next scheduled meeting. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />During declared and local emergencies, it can become necessary to provide meals to workers <br />preparing and responding to the emergency. In accordance with the Robert T. Stafford Disaster <br />Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (the "Stafford Act"), meals are eligible emergency <br />protective measures and reimbursable under Category B of FEMA's Public Assistance program. <br />This Interlocal Agreement between the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners and <br />the Indian River County Sheriff's Office (IRCSO) is to provide meals during and after declared <br />and local emergencies upon the request of the county. The agreement formalizes details such as <br />responsibilities and reimbursement associated with providing meals to workers during the <br />emergency. <br />FUNDING: <br />The County shall be responsible for reimbursing the Sheriff's Office for all reasonable and <br />necessary costs and expenses incurred by the Sheriff s Office in providing the meals pursuant to <br />the County's request. During emergencies, the Office of Management and Budget will provide a <br />project code to track all expenses for said emergency. All costs will be charged under the project <br />code and if the emergency is federally declared the costs will be reimbursable under the Federal <br />Public Assistance program. <br />7 <br />
