The DOF will be responsible for p/opuhog the actual burning <br />r, <br />prescriptions for each management unit guided bythe biological goals and objectives <br />|� <br />of this operating conservation program and the xpooion ,00m/atioo burning and fire <br />management objectives outlined ho|uw. The prescription must also consider the <br />°~ <br />vegetative type and fuel load, smoke management and site constraints, and proximity <br />to neighbors. <br />/ - <br />Indian River County will beresponsible for coordinating with the nOFmnotify nearby <br />. public and private mnhUoa of the intent to burn before and after the hum permit is <br />issued. <br />Public notification isstrongly recommended for all prescribed burns conducted onthe <br />' <br />Scrub -Jay Habitat Compensation Areas. A short broadcast on local radio on`tinox is <br />recommended tocaution motorists onnearby thoroughfares, such ao C.R. 510' U.S. <br />Highway 1' and Roseland Rnnd, of the possibility of smoke affecting visibility. <br />Additional efforts shall also be made to notify )000| commvnhy residents about the <br />_ <br />burn. In addition, p brief educational bulletin should Vocirculated to nearby residents <br />informing them as to the importance of fire in maintaining suitable uu/uh habitat for <br />the Florida scrub jay and udmr svmh species of uunxomadon concern.
