Fabricate torsion rod for counterbalance shaft of <br />case-hardened steel, of required size to hold fixed <br />spring ends and carry torsional load. <br />E. Brackets; Provide mounting brackets of manufacturer's <br />standard design either cast iron or cold -roller steel <br />plate with carry torsional load. <br />F.Hood: Form to entirely enclose coiled curtain and <br />operating mechanism at opening head, and act as <br />weather seal. Contour to suit end brackets to which <br />hood is attached. Roll and reinforce top and bottom <br />edges for stiffness. Provide closed ends for <br />surface -mounted hoods, and any portion of between - <br />jamb mounting projecting beyond wall face. Provide <br />intermediate support brackets as required to prevent <br />sag. <br />1. Fabricate steel hoods for doors of not less than <br />24 gage hot -dip galvanized steel sheet with G 90 <br />zinc coating, complying with ASTM A 525. <br />Phosphate treat before fabrication. <br />2. On fire rated door furnish automatic drop baffle <br />to guard against passage of smoke or flame. <br />2.04 PAINTING <br />sShoR clean and prime ferrous metal and galvanized <br />surfaces, exposed and unexposed, except Paying and <br />lubricated surfaces, with door manufacturer's standard <br />rust inhibitive primer. <br />2.05 MANUAL DOOR OPERATORS <br />A. Provide manual operators. <br />B. Manual Push -U Operation: Design counterbalance <br />mechanism so that required lift or pull for door <br />operation does not exceed 25 lbs. .Adjust operating <br />iue�iiataiboil so that curtain can be easily stopped at <br />any point in its travel and to remain in position <br />until movement is reactivated. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />INSTALLATION <br />A. Install door and operating equipment complete with <br />necessary hardware, jamb and head mold strips, <br />anchors, inserts, hangers and equipment supports in <br />accordance with final shop drawings, manufacturer's <br />instructions, and as specified herein. <br />Install fire-;-ated door to comply with NEPA 80. <br />08334-3 <br />
