Subject to compliance with requirements, provide <br />DUROCK Cement Board System as manufactured by the <br />united States Gypsum Company, unless otherwise <br />a <br />indicated. <br />B. Equivalent systems of other manufacturers may be <br />proposed under conditions as set forth in the <br />contract conditions. <br />C. Materials <br />1. Glass Mesh Mortar. Unit Cement Boarder USG DUROCK <br />Exterior Cement board 1/2" x 4' x 81. <br />2. Cement Board Fasteners: 1 1/411, DUROCK Screws: <br />wafer heaj with corrosive coating. Beads recessed <br />or counter sunk. <br />D. Joint Reinforcement: DUROCK Tape (211 wide). <br />E. Metal Framincz: Comply with ASTM 0645: Manufactured by <br />The United States Gypsum Company Min. 22 ga. must <br />meet ASTM A446, A525, A568, A463. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 INSTALLATION <br />A. Install metal framing in accordance with <br />manufacturers instructions, Stud spacing not to <br />exceed 16 in. o.c. Provide double studs at <br />ends of each board. <br />B. Install cement board with rough side facing out and <br />vertical edges over double supports. Stagger joints <br />in successive courses. install adjacent board <br />closely but not forced. <br />C. Fasten boards to framing with DUROCK screws. Space <br />fasteners o" at Wal15. LViaLU PU-EilllUter <br />fasteners at least 3/8" from edges. Counter sink. <br />screw heads slightly beneath the board surface,. <br />Provide firm board contact with framing. Pre drill <br />edge screw locations to prevent breaking at edges. <br />D, Joint_ Reinforcement: Apply over board joints and <br />corners. Do not overlap. <br />E Tile: Comply with application requirements of <br />TT—vision-4 Section "Unit Masonry" Apply 1/81" <br />minimum thick skim coat of mortar over cement board. <br />Surface shall be smooth and flat. Allow to set 24 <br />hours prior to next step. Use a 3/8" notched trowel <br />092302 <br />
